Performance Power Magazine (PPM)
The PPM is a lithium energy cell power supply system, and contains enough power for approximately 500 5-second discharges (depending on temperature and use of the flashlight). The PPM will deplete faster in colder weather than warm weather, and with the flashlight active.
Independent Fire Control System
The Independent Fire Control System is a low voltage charge that initiates cartridge launch independent of the Neuromusclear Incapacitation (NMI) discharge. This system enables the controlled deployment of multiple cartridges, and allows the user to display a spectacular array of electric arcs to deter or warn subjects - all while the X2 remains fully loaded with live cartridges.
Smart Cartridges & Charge Diffusion Probes
The Smart Cartridges communicate with the TASER X2, and indicate the type of cartridge loaded in each bay, as well as its deployment status. The Smart Cartridge contains the nitrogen propulsion system, wire, probes and Anti-Felon Identification (AFID) tags sealed behind a rugged, weatherproof blast door. The Smart Cartridge employs a static resistant propulsion system that allows the TASER X2 to display electrical arcs without firing the cartridge, and greatly reduces the risk of accidental discharges and misfires. Optimized for better target retention, the Charge Diffusion Probes provide an improved margin of safety by dissipating the charge closer to outer layers of skin away from vital organs.
Rotational-Pulse Drive & X-Connect
Rotational-Pulse Drive rotates electrical discharges across the three cartridge bays. This alternation of output across multiple cartridges allows a single TASER X2 to incapacitate up to two subjects simultaneously with the same effectiveness as two separate TASER devices. The X2's Rotational-Pulse Drive also allows cross-connection between multiple cartridges. This feature is called X-Connect, and makes the X2 effective even if some probes from multiple cartridges do not hit the target. As long as one top probe and one bottom probe from either of the two cartridge make contact, the circuit can be completed and induce incapacitation.
Precision-Shaped Pulse Calibration System (PSC)
The Pulse Calibration System constantly optimizes the device to deliver the precise amount of electric charge needed to cause optimal incapacitation while enhancing safety. This continuous monitoring and adjustment of electrical output yields a Precision Shaped Pulse that provides more consistent effects on the target and a margin of safety up to 40% greater than previous ECD technology.
